Overview

The Revolutionary Stayflex™ Chest Support

Our Stayflex™ Chest Support gives firm support to users needing trunk control with more freedom of movement in the shoulders than the PivotFit or Trimline Shoulder Harnesses. The patented dual-stretch-zone construction virtually eliminates upward shift at the neckline when the user leans forward, minimizing strangulation risk.

Available in Standard and Narrow Width styles. Narrow Width provides a comfortable fit for women and user with smaller frames. Optional zipper on either style allows easier removal.

The Bodypoint difference is in the details:

  • Made of carefully selected materials that provide the optimal balance between stretch and resistance.
  • New MD (multi-directional) Pull Straps can be configured as either a front-pull or rear-pull at the time of the fitting to better accommodate individual user needs. No need to choose pull style when ordering.
  • Quick-release swivel buckles on the lower straps for easy removal.
  • Machine washable, with superior materials and careful stitching in our Seattle facility for long life.

Caution: Whenever a chest belt or other anterior trunk support is used, a properly-adjusted pelvic support should also be worn to prevent sliding.

Sizing

FAQ's

Q    How do I determine the size I need?
A    Sizing details, including measuring instructions, are included in our Bodypoint Product Guide.  Sizing information and measuring instructions are also available on the “sizing” tab on each product page.

Q    Which end fitting option should I choose?
A    We offer two end fittings options: Flat-Mount and Cinch-Mount. The Flat-Mount is low profile and can fit into tight mounting spaces. The Cinch Mount is quick and easy to adjust, good for frequent adjustments. Additional hardware options are available separately based on the type of wheelchair the item is mounting to.

Q    Do your 4 point harnesses come with front pull or rear pull top straps?
A    Top straps can be configured into both rear and front pull adjustments using our multi-directional top straps. You get both options in one harness!

Q    Should I use strap guides with a harness?
A    If your backrest height does not allow for optimal placement, strap guides offer more flexibility and positioning options.

Q    Should a harness be used in conjunction with a pelvic positioning belt
A    Yes! A harness should always be used with a properly fitted pelvic positioning belt.

Q    Should I choose a two point or a four point upper body support?
A    If you are looking for lateral stability during activities, a two-point upper body support may be sufficient. If you require more trunk control and stability, including shoulder retraction, a four-point upper body support may be a better option.

Q    Why would I choose a zipper?
A    The Stayflex is available with or without a zipper. The zipper option is based on your preference, or for ease of transferring a client in and out of the wheelchair.

Q    What are the benefits of choosing a Stayflex over a standard H-Harness?
A    The Stayflex offers additional anterior trunk suport and covers more surface area for a more distributed control for the trunk.
