Overview

Leg Harness for Hip Extension and Thrust

The Leg Harness is designed to address hip extension, thrusting, and sliding in the wheelchair. Inspired by a therapist’s request for a 5-point harness, it’s an ideal solution for users who exhibit spasticity or tend to slide out of position. Each leg wrap extends from the rear of the seat to the inner thigh at the front, increasing surface area for improved control of movement. Its unique, user-friendly design makes correct use nearly foolproof and allows for use with or without a pelvic belt, depending on the individual’s needs. This product is a great alternative to a groin strap.

Sold as a pair.

FAQ's

Q:   Is the leg harness a “groin strap”?
A:   No. The leg harness is positioned across the mid to upper thigh to support leg and pelvic alignment. It does not go through the groin.

Q:   When should I use a leg harness?
A:   The leg harness is helpful for clients with high tone, aiding in pelvic positioning. For best results, use it alongside a pelvic positioning belt.

Q:   How does the leg harness mount to the wheelchair?
A:   The harness wraps around each leg, starting from the rear of the seat and securing to the inner thigh area at the front of the chair.
